In this workshop two multi-published, award-winning authors will discuss the pros and cons of using varying point of views. Discussion of multi-POV stories, common POV shifts and slips, the part perspective plays, and effective strategies for deep point of view will also be covered. At workshop conclusion, attendees will have a better grasp on how to select the best point of view for their manuscripts and will have reviewed techniques to tighten, frame and successfully portray their character’s thoughts and emotions throughout the storyline.
About Our Speakers
Liz Talley: A finalist in both the Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart contest and Rita awards, Liz is a member of NOLA Stars and often blogs on the 2009 Golden Heart blog – http://www.rubyslippersisterhood.com. She loves strawberries, fishing, retail therapy and is a Virgo. Liz married her high school sweetheart and has two smart, beautiful boys. When not writing contemporary romances, she can be found working in the flowerbed or doing laundry.
Winnie Griggs: Winnie is an award winning, multi-published author and currently serves on the board of Romance Writers of America. She grew up in south Louisiana exploring the overgrown land around her home, cutting jungle trails, and looking for pirate ships on the nearby bayou. Once she ‘grew up’ she found other outlets for dealing with her imagination, filling notebooks with stories. And somewhere along the way, those scribblings gave way to full length books. Eventually she found her own Prince Charming, a rancher whose white steed takes the form of a tractor and whose kingdom is situated in a small rural community that she loves to call home, and together they’ve built their own storybook happily-ever-after.
